Thanks to all of those who answered my question about what book Meg Ryan was reading in You've Got Mail!!!!! After reading so many responses with Boy as the answer, I remembered that part of the book. I am sure it is when he was at boarding school, and he was talking about the shop owner who sold candy. I will have to watch the movie again to check out the advertising behind her. Have never noticed it! Going Solo is the sequel to Boy. It is about Dahl's adult life as a fighter pilot in WWII. After reading Boy years ago I can understand why he always had adults as villains. He was treated so horribly by them when he was at boarding school! Dona J.
