Hello All, With all the talk of lobbying for more full time school librarians in schools, I thought I'd relate a story about successful advocacy. Our state school library association, Educational Media Association of NJ, was alerted to the opportunity to write an article for School Leader magazine. This is a periodical for school board members (Pam Nutt, do you get it?). They were soliciting articles for an issue on libraries. Well, a member of our association did write an article about the critical role of the school library. It appears in the September/October edition of School Leader . If you know any school board members, you might direct their attention to the issue. It is important for us to get the word of our services out to those with the power to add or subtract programs in the schools- our school board representatives. Jo JosephineG.
