I have an 11th grader who is doing a research paper on the depiction of lesbians in YA literature. I can't remember the names of two books I want to reccomend. One is about a girl who goes away to a girls' boarding school and develops a crush on an aolder student. The older girl is planning on going to Bryn Mawr and the younger girl buys her a charm in the shape of the state of Pennsylvania. The other book is not specifically YA. It is three stories that show the was the main character's life would have turned out if she had made different decisions as a young woman. All I remember is that she was a swimmer in high school and in one life she was a housewife and in another she was an academic who was in a long term relationship with a woman.
