[LM_NET] Copyright on Christmas Specials

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know about copyright permission on things like Frosty the  
Snowman or Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer?  The journalism class  
wants to use this ideas/images in their paper that goes out to both  
the school and the public.  Thanks for any help you can offer!
