How do you handle checkouts when a student has a fine? Past practice here by previous librarians has been if you have a fine we will hold the book for the rest of the week but you can't check it out until you pay. Now, we are more concerned with getting books out than making money. It seems ridiculous to keep a kid from checking out a book for ten cents. How do you handle this? Is there a cap on the fine, say $1 or $2, where checkouts are cut off? We currently have 3 week check outs so a $1 fine is 10 days over due. -- Stephanie Sweeney Librarian Eastern Lancaster County School District Garden Spot High School PO Box 609 New Holland, PA 17557-0609 stephanie_sweeney@elanco.org Phone: 717-354-1543 Fax: 717-354-1534 -------------------------------------------------------------------- All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
