We named our dog Miranda. The name had the benefit of referring both to a Shakespeare character, and to a moon of Uranus. This satisfied the librarian and her astronomy teacher spouse! As for the kids, I guess you could say they're named for people in a famous book. :) The elder is "Mary," and the younger, "Rachel." (5 points if you said "the Bible," and 10 points if you can name which books...)
