The overwhelming response was to use velcro and a number (or barcode) system. Highsmith has a product called Cord-A-Keep #30168 $11.95 It looks like one of those coiled cords that you stick to a clip-board or desk with a pen on the end. But this has a flat, sticky piece on each end. The idea is to stick one end to the DVD, VCR, etc., and the other to the remote. The cord extends to 4-6 feet so the remote can be used. I recently bought a couple but haven't had installed them yet. If anyone else has used cord-a-keep I would like to know how it worked for you.
