"The Library is a Theme Park For the Mind" That was the motto that was used already when I took over my new library position. I agree, and want to take it even further. I would like to make our library feel that you are entering another place. Think about when you visit an amusement park like Disneyland. When you walk in, you forget about the rest of the world. I want that effect for the library. I would like my students (grades 6-12) to feel that they are entering another place, and somehow forget about the worries that school may cause. Now, I need to know how to do it. Disneyland does it with the "berm," a row of trees making the outside world impossible to see. What decorations, or ideas do you have to help me accomplish my idea? I would like to create different "lands" inside the library. Any ideas? I have purchased the new "Movie Posters" from Demco, which will give a different feel to an area. Please pour out your creative ideas.
