I just want to say thanks to New Orleans for loving us right back. I don't
remember when librarians have gotten such great press!

I had a great time, was touched by all the stories I heard from the taxi
drivers and other service people, and had my most poignant moment in a
jazz venue on Bourbon Street when the band played Louis Armstrong's "What
a Wonderful World." If the people in New Orleans can take to heart the
words to that song, then the rest of us can follow suit!

I have emailed a letter to the editor of the Nashville Tennessean stating
that NOLA is ready for visitors, but I'm afraid the newspaper has not seen
fit to publish my missive. Maybe I got carried away and went on too long
with my praise, but I would encourage y'all to do likewise or to do what
you can to spread the word that New Orleans is ready for company.

Terry, thanks to you and your city for being great hosts. Karen, thanks
for sharing the link to that great article in the Times-Picayune.

Let the good times roll!

> My hearfelt thanks to all of you who came to my hometown for the ALA

> And you did..about 18,000!! The attendance was about par with ALA in
