I am in the process of planning my annual Family Reading Night and have chosen a dinosaur theme this year. I am appealing to the collective wisdom of my many colleagues to help me. I am looking for reading activity ideas aimed at K-3 students and their parents with a dinosaur theme. We could have from 150 to 450 in attendance. We will be serving a meal first and then students will work on a dinosaur related craft (I have many ideas for that). After that we'll have large group activities. I'm planning on a reader's theater (I have several teachers willing to be involved in this), but need a dinosaur book idea. I have checked the archives and any lists I find are mostly non-fiction recommendations. I'd also like to find a book to use with some type of repetitive phrase or pattern where I could involve the entire audience. Any other activity suggestions would be appreciated, as well. I'll post a hit if there is an interest. Please respond to the email address below. Thanks in advance for any ideas you may have!
