Good morning, I am preparing to work with first grade on mapping and map making. Because the classroom teachers are tired of getting maps of bedrooms or the school floorplan I suggested that we look at and then create maps from some of our favorite picture book places. For example: the Farm from Click, Clack, Moo, or Lily's neighborhood. They loved the idea, but we want some examples to show and the only one I can think of is "And the Dish Ran Away with the Spoon" by Janet Stevens. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and if there is an interest I will post a hit! Thanks in advance for the help!
