I was told in a reference class taught by Fern Hyman, a Rice University reference librarian, that one should always share who's who type information when those things come in over the transom. (Not identity theft type info, naturally) The rationale is that if a person is not hugely famous, it is often hard to find ANY good information about them. How many times have we had people on this listserv trying to find out something about a not very famous author? If stuff is available in a not very respectable who's who type publication, it might be the only place it can be found. Just another point of view about these trashy who's who things.
