Unfortunately one of the trends I am seeing (but NOT in my building) is that principals are taking librarians out of the library 90 minutes a day to teach a reading block! Like Sam said, I don't know much about the teaching of reading...my forte comes in knowing books to suggest to help the kiddos find books for their pleasure reading. I probably know more about reading now than I did when I first started because one of my friends has a masters in reading so I have picked stuff up from her....but not enough to actually teach it. **************************** Barb Engvall =^..^= Teacher-Librarian John Campbell Elem Selah, WA macbarb@charter.net http://www.selah.k12.wa.us/JC/jc.cfm On Jul 1, 2007, at 7:00 AM, Cyndi Phillip wrote: > This new role for library media specialists has everything to do > with NCLB.
