Now that I'm looking for work, it seems to me that I made a big mistake in choosing to get a Master's degree in library science. There are many schools that do not have a librarian, but I see a lot of ads for reading specialists. Just about every school has a reading specialist, but many schools choos not to have a librarian. Also, it seems to me that in many schools, librarians are not very well appreciated, and are only hired if there is extra funding. Looking back on it now, I wish I had become a reading specialist rather a librarian...I think I would have gotten a lot more respect. But I'm getting too close to retirement to start over now. -- Sam DiMartino Prosser Career Academy Chicago Public Schools sam.dimartino@gmail.com http://www.geocities.com/samdimar/index.htm -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
