At one of my adult book clubs, another member who is a teacher went to Goodwill to purchase the most bizarre thing she could find for $5. We had the reverse gift exchange (I know there are many names for it) and I "stole" the thing she brought. I can best describe it as a large, cracked mirrored egg on a pedestal, about 10 " tall, with a Crate & Barrel/Made in China sticker on the bottom. Kids love it! Being in the land of the Indianapolis Colts, I call it my "mini-Lombardi trophy" Another thing I have is a wooden stand with multiple country flags-- but one is missing. That's good too, because I ask kids to figure out which one is missing, and, before you know it, it's their turn to check out! Periodically I put out a fountain that has the large plastic ball turned by the force of the water (with changing colors of light), but when I get tired of kids picking up the ball and spraying water I put it aside for awhile. Great thread! I'm going shopping for more things to put out!
