Hi,
Original post:
A student teacher in my building thinks that I am the most wonderful media
specialist on the planet, and she's stumped me! Rather than dash her image
of me, I'm coming to the collective brain for help! She's looking for an
'active' book, something along the lines of "Going on a Bear Hunt", but
appropriate for an older audience, say 2nd or 3rd grade. If you have any
ideas and can help me stay on that pedestal, please send them quick! I'll
post a hit if I get requests.

Would she consider any of these? I wish I could think of actual stories. This is
all I could think of that might be age appropriate
Schoolyard Rhymes: Kids Own Rhymes for Rope Skipping, Hand Clapping, Ball Bouncing
and Just Plain Fun by Sweet
Anna Banana: 101 Jump Rope Rhymes by Cole, Tiegreen and Tiegreen
Hand Clap! Miss Mary Mack: 42 Hand Clapping Games for Kids by Bernstein

"Possum come a knockin'

Snake Alley band

Aunt Pitty Patty's Piggy by Aylesworth

Don't make me laugh" by James Stevenson

Thanks for all your great suggestions!
Some of these I don't have, but they look great and I've added them to a list on
titlewave. I ended up giving my student teacher the book "There was a bold Lady
who wanted a Star" by Charise Mericle Harper. This book is similar to "I know an
old lady...", but uses different modes of transportation to get to the star instead
of swallowing stuff.
