Hello All,

We held a mock election on Feb. 4th after educating our students on the
candidates' positions. It was very successful and generated a lot of
interest and talk.

Now some of our teachers would like to continue with more "election
edcuation," probably involving the superdelegates.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to teach middle school students about
superdelegates: how they're chosen, how many there are, the differences
between the Republican and Democratic ways of choosing them, why they might
have a big role this year, etc.?

I almost feel that it could be math-related, since there is a lot of math
involved in understanding how many each state has, etc.

But I need to have a way to present it all to the student body, and then
have them participate somehow. For the elections we wrote speeches and chose
students to be the candidates and give the speeches. We created an iMovie
and showed it to the entire school during SSR. We created ballots for the
students and everyone voted after the video was over. Then we compared our
results to the "real" results on super Tuesday.

I need something equally as involving, clear, and relevant.

Any ideas would be welcome.

Thanks in advance.
