[LM_NET] ELEM: Dex versus Superdog

I have searched and asked but no one seems to know why the book by the Buehners was 
published under the title Dex The Heart of a Hero and then as Superdog The Heart of 
a Hero. Since it is a California Young Reader Medal Book it would be good to know 
how to explain to my students that I have two copies of the same book but with 
different titles. Any inside information much appreciated!
