[LM_NET] HIT: DVD region codes on a computer

Thanks to Michael Penny and Gail Shea Grainger for the quick hits:


As far as I know, you can only change the Region 5 times on a computer.

Once the 5th time is reached, it will stay there.


As far as I know you can change the region of your computer DVD player a
certain number of times (about 8 I think) until the player is set to
whatever region the last DVD was.  There are some little software patches
out there on the web that you can download that gets rid of the limit but I
admit I haven't used them.  I am from England and my wife is from NC so our
way of getting round the different regions was to buy a multi-region player
as nowadays they are not any more expensive than the single US region.

 (It looks like a multi-region DVD player can be purchased for approximately
$100).
