I know that there are still many schools and districts with draconian filtering that precludes Web 2.0 use and countless other sites as well. I also know that there is a growing group of people who are leading the way in speaking out in favor of commonsense filtering. Several names come immediately to my mind: Nancy Willard, Doug Johnson, and my fellow Texan Dr. Barry Bishop of Spring Branch ISD. I blogged about this today...I would love to compile a list of people with helpful resources that can be used by educators when they seek to build a case for loosening filters. Can you think of others? I will post a hit to list as well as to my blog. Thanks in advance, mabell PS My blog with links and information on the folks mentioned above is at http://drmabell.blogspot.com/ -- ********************************* "Try Curiosity!"--Dorothy Parker ********************************* Dr. Mary Ann Bell Associate Professor Sam Houston State University A Member of the Texas State University System Department of Library Science lis_mah@shsu.edu drmaryannbell@gmail.com -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
