One of my 6th grade teachers came to me today asking for help with poetry. She needs to find poems that have examples of the basic forms of figurative language (simile, metaphor, personification, the usual). Are there any websites out there that would allow the user to search poems by figurative language term? Or, does anyone out there have some personal favorite poems that fit the bill? If you send along the title, we can look them up. I'm currently pulling our non-fiction books on poetry, and I have a few favorite individual poems of my own. I would, however, appreciate any additional suggestions.
