If libraries have made good use of digital frames, the next level is a digital signage system. Simply speaking, it would be a series of flat panel monitors (either consumer or professional utilizing their HD capability) that can carry either the same or different messages wired to and being controlled by the library's circulation desk - in my opinion this technology could be well used in new and existing libraries - and this digital signage system can be expanded throughout the school - making the library a more central place for information and communication - and this can bring the library into a more central role within any school, help promote the good agenda libraries always have, and position them to be more useful to students and administration. With a little innovation, systems like these need not be too expensive. And then there is content to stream on the library's web site utilizing Widows Media Services. www.librarymedia.net ddigregorio@tenafly.k12.nj.us David Di Gregorio Supervisor Library Media Services Tenafly High School 19 Columbus Drive Tenafly, NJ 07670 USA -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
