thanks as always for the responses to my target ORIGINAL TARGET: I have a 3rd grader who LOVES money and is fascinated with foreign currency, loves to touch it, and if he can't touch money, he loves to look at photos of money. Anybody know of a book that has LOTS of photos of currency from all around the world? Could be a kid book, could even be an adult book - just has to have PHOTOS. RESPONSES: ***** Don't have a suggestion for a book, but I do use this website with my third grade students when they work on a research project about foreign currency. http://www.banknotes.com/images.htm ***** We have a book called The Art of Money by David Standish ISBN 0811828050. It has great color pictures inside. ***** Now that I think about it after sending the website with pictures of foreign currency, I realized that I should have just sent you the link to the trackstar list of websites that the students used for the assignment. http://trackstar.4teachers.org/trackstar/ts/viewTrack.do?number=313913 That student might be interested in some of the other sites as well. Let me know if you want details about the lesson. The third graders read a unit about money in their reading series and I show/discuss the security features of US currency and then have the students apply that knowledge to researching foreign currency. ***** _____________________________________ Patricia Sarles, MA, MLS Librarian Damrosch Day Treatment School NYC Department of Education 750 Jennings Street Bronx, NY 10459 voice: 718 378-0006 x2172 fax: 718 589-9544 p s a r l e s @ s c h o o l s . n y c . g o v http://damroschlibrary.blogspot.com/ http://wjdlibrary.wikispaces.com/ "Ten guards and the warden couldn't have torn me out of those books.
