I ordered a number of books by Sherman Alexie based on the popularity of
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. I ordered three other
titles. My computer lab aide happened to be glancing through The
Toughest Indian in the World and came across a passage that graphically
portrayed a homosexual encounter. Am I in for any other surprises with
these other titles:

The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven

Flight

Reservation Blues

Ed Nizalowski, SMS

Newark Valley High School

Newark Valley, NY

"Morton quickly discovered what the Pilgrims had become in
the years since Wessagussett. He had already learned from the
Massachusett Indians of the viciousness of Standish's earlier attack and
the fear it had unleashed in the region. After being taken by Standish
and his men, who 'fell upon him as if they would have eaten him,' Morton
began to question who were now the true savages in this land. 'But I
have found the Massachusetts Indians more full of humanity than the
Christians,' he wrote, 'and have had much better quarter with them.'"

from Mayflower by Nathaniel Philbrick [Thomas Morton was founder of
Merrymount, MA]
