First, I explain that all books are in the Dewey Decimal system, including fiction.
I explain that Fairy Tales are in the 300's section because it is Social Sciences
which covers customs, holidays, etc. of other countries, it also includes stories
of other countries. It works for my little ones!

Subject: Re: Ficiton/ Non-fiction

I know this has been addressed before, but here is where I have a problem. I try
to teach my students the difference in ficiton and non-fiction and it works except
fot fairy tales...how do you explain fairytales in the section with information/
facts? I need an explaination that would make sense to a first grader.
Thanks! :o)
