Our principal is being told that the IT department will NOT link teacher/counselor created protopages to the school website because legally if they can't control the material than we will be denied our federal grant money for Internet use. I believe this is related to the legislation that Nancy Willard has been keeping us up to date on, just applied in a different context. My principal is interested in 2 things: 1. Are other schools linking protopages to their websites? 2. Is this a correct interpretation of the law? 3. Would there be a difference between a counselor page that needs to be open to the public and a teacher page that could be pass protected or linked on Moodle? 4. Doesn't Protopage allow password protection? Thank you for your help as we continue to promote 21st Century technology in our schools!
