Hello - I have a teacher that I am very proud I was able to get into the library to let me work with his students ( he is older and not so inclined most of the time). Government is a half year course that runs to January - he has assigned them 10 topics to find articles on and write up summaries for between now and then. I have one student I worked with who wanted to start early so this is what we did: The topic is: Constitution: Find an article which deals with the constitution and its applicaton in the 1990s-now. I had her go into Gale Databases, check off student edition, custom newspapers, ny state newspapers, student resource center jr. We typed in a variety of terms - USA Constitution, American constitution -but not a lot looked like "application". So I went in and also used bill of rights, supreme court, etc to find more articles (the class has about 15 students). My question has a few parts: 1. How do I define "application" - maybe my idea of supreme court cases and bill of rights is too narrow? 2. Are there any other ways to search this concept - other keywords, etc - that I am missing? 3. How in the heck am I going to do this with the next 9...they get harder to narrow down to key words...for example the next one deals with the american federal system distributing power and preventing its abuse... Any help would be most appreciated! This one isn't really set up for easy keyword searching.
