To get teachers excited about reading, I would read them some excerpts from great books. Touching Spirit Bear, Surviving the Applewhites, The Uglies, Higher Power of Lucky, are a few that come to mind. Let them hear how amazing these books actually are by reading some juicy parts. Or do book talks on some of the excellent books.
