This topic has been discussed at length in recent days, and the relevant discussions on censorship, education, etc have been important for our membership to weigh in on (esp as it will be aired in many libraries), so it has been given some space in this forum to do so. As the topic has now turned largely political, it is now time to rein it in and return to our focus on topics directly relevant to school libraries. If anyone has additional informational resources to share relevant to the speech, we welcome those, but it is time to bring a close discussions on "to broadcast" or "not to broadcast" and whether its political content is appropriate or not. We have heard both sides of the argument now, and the final decisions will be made by local schools. Thanks for helping us bring an end to this discussion. -- Michelle Walker Co-Moderator, LM_NET and El-Announce with LM_NET Select Librarian, Hamilton Union High School District 620 Canal Street / PO Box 488 Hamilton City, CA 95951 (530) 826-3261 http://www.glenn-co.k12.ca.us/ham-hs/library.html michellekwalker@gmail.com -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
