The slow connection could be caused at both ends. If more bandwidth is
requested than is available either from a website or from a network, your
video streaming will slow down and/or crash. The White House website claims
to have enough bandwidth for everyone to access it at once, but your
school's network may not have enough bandwidth for every classroom to
conduct live streaming at once. The good news is that you don't have to
record it to view it later. Just go to either www.whitehouse.gov, www.ed.gov,
or www.cspan.org anytime after the speech and view an archived version. The
more your teachers vary the time at which they stream the video, the less
impact this act will have on your network at any given time. This kind of
staggering increases the likelihood that teachers will be able to view the
video with their classes without their connection freezing up.
