I am back in graduate school and a professor has asked my class to do presentations on six different books. As part of each individual's presentation, they have been asked to copy three chapters and bring 10 copies to distribute to the rest of the class. This sounds wrong. Is this fair use? Again, copy three chapters and distribute 10 copies to classmates. A second question: Same class: full chapters from other miscellaneous books on e-reserve at the library as required assignments, print and bring to class. Fair use? Isn't this like copying additional materials for students to avoid the extra purchase of those materials? (actually a third question) Thanks all for the collective wisdom we share. ;-) Noël S.
