I am reluctantly retiring at the end of this school year, leaving a
wonderful position vacant.  I want to leave "my" library in the hands of
a superlative librarian, and since one mark of a stellar media
specialist is active participation in LM-Net, there's no better place to

TITLE: Library Media Specialist - HS 

DATE OF OPENING: September 2010

QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. NYS Education Department Certification or CQ required in Library
Media. 

2. Master's Degree preferred. 

3. Demonstrable effective teaching skills. 

4. Evidence of excellent background and knowledge. 

5. Outstanding preparation and/or experience may be substituted for some
of the above qualifications. 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY: 

The successful candidate will be expected to implement the curriculum
for the appropriate position for the Spackenkill Union Free School
District and to perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
under contract agreement.  

SALARY: 

Based on training and experience according to the current salary
schedule and negotiated by the Spackenkill Teachers Association.

Spackenkill Union Free School District is located in Dutchess County,
New York, in the beautiful Hudson Valley.  The High School serves
approximately 550 students in grades 9-12.
