I had a funny thing happen the other day. The security guard for the school came
over to the library and handed in a library book. It was an old book - no barcode.
And according to the card in the back it was last checked out in 1965.
He said that a women dropped it off at the front of the school at the gate and
asked if he could give it to the librarian. I opened up the book and it had a
handwritten note inside that said: "This book is overdue. I have no excuses."I had
a good laugh
after reading it. Apparently the person who returned it didn't want to face "the
librarian" but she had very good intentions in returning it. That just goes to
show that books eventually do turn up! :) Even if it's 45 years later...
