[LM_NET] VENT: Books still out

Dear Great and Wise Ones:

Once again I rant about the overdue book situation.
We have a full day today and half days Wednesday and Thursday.
I have 338 items out to students. That's $6700!!

Students do not care. They don't care if they have overdue books. They will
not even look in their lockers and bags for overdue items.
They will not pay fines.
Parents do not care. They ignore notices sent home. They will not look for
books at home. They will not pay their child's fines or pay for the books.
Teachers do not care. They will not pick up books left on lockers or desks
or in the floor and return them to the library.

I have tried punishment and reward. Honey and vinegar.

Does not help.  So frustrated and angry.
