The COTF works closely with NASA science and education personnel to develop high quality, high technology K-12 educational products focusing on mathematics and science education. Required: Strong background in and knowledge of K-12 mathematics, science, and/or technology education. An understanding of current national mathematics and science education reform efforts. An understanding of current approaches to teaching and learning including constructivism and cooperative learning. Experience writing K-12 science, mathematics, and/or technology curricula. Masters Degree in educational technologies, curriculum and instruction, or a related field. Strong intrapersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Desirable: Knowledge of NASA K-12 educational products and programs. Experience assisting in the development of multimedia curricula. Experience in testing and evaluation of multimedia curricula materials. Experience planning and delivering K-12 preservice or inservice education programs. Duties: Conduct background research into specific content and pedagogical approaches related to individual COTF projects. Write curriculum materials for creation as print, audio, and/or video media. Edit curriculum materials prepared for COTF projects by other development team members and/or consultants. Assist with the design and implementation of teacher training activities focused on COTF educational products.
