Spring Bulletin Board Idea:
    Here's a bulletin board idea for you...  The words are "Everything's Coming
 Up Paperback".   I cut them in various colors and shapes, quite fanciful.  Add
 a bunch of large tulips cut out of construction paper and big enough to hold a
 paperback book.  Staple the bottom of the tulip on the bulletin board, put a
paperback book behind it, and then staple the sides to the bulletin board.  It
will look like the tulip has a book in it.  Add curvy stems and leaves so it
looks like a bunch of blooming flowers.
     The first year I did this, I put it on the bulletin board opposite the
circulation desk.  As students looked at the books, they usually removed them
from the tulips and checked them out.  No problem.  Simply add more books to
the tulips.
     When you take the display down, save all the pieces in a file and use it
again next year.   Faded or damaged pieces are easily replaced.  Cost: almost
nothing.   Attention gathered from students:  Very high.
