I have the ALA Banned Books book and it says that Bridge was
challenged as suitable curriculum material in the Harwinton and Burlington
CT schools (1992) because it contains language and subject matter that set
bd exampels and give students negative views of life. unquote. Other
challenges had to do with profanity (use of "Oh Lord" as an explitive).
