After being an English teacher for a quarter of a century, I am now a media specialist (otherwise known as librarian). We are in the process of networking our library. We have 3 work stations for students, 2 for library administration, and a file server. We have multi-user Molli, minuet, pmail, MS works, and wordperfect. We have connected our file server with a file server in the English lab and will also connect with the business lab soon. One of my multitude of questions is what is the best menu for our situation. Do I make the card catalog accessible to everyone and then give the other privileges on a need to/asked for basis...or do I give login scripts to all students that they must use even to get into the card catalog? What will we do about logging on from the outlying labs? I would appreciate any "experienced" opinions because I am a novice in every sense (except age) of the word. One non sequitur....I belong to a book club of ten women (from ages 50 to 75), and we would like a "fresh" list of good books to read. If you would send me the name and author of your favorite book, I would appreciate it tremendously. George Anne Draper Wynne High School Wynne, AR 723956 gdraper@wps.k12.ar.us
