?Multi-media authoring programs

Dear 'Netters,

I have to do a presentation on December 9, about using technology with
gifted and talented programs.  I am familiar with Hyper Card, Hyper
Studio, and Link Way.  The other day a fellow librarian was talking about
Digital Chisel and Toolworks.  Does anyone out there have an opinion
about these programs and are there other commercial programs that you
would recommend for students for multi-media presentations?
