Several people wanted to know how to get block scheduling info from K12ADMIN archives. The command is so convoluted it's no wonder people get lost on the info highway! Anyway... here's the way to get the stuff....BUT....careful... if you use the Print command like shown below it will retrieve *all* the files dealing with the search topic. In this case I got 101 block scheduling postings (all in one e-mail message which was 98 KB in size.... whew... those guys can really discuss that topic!). Here's the basic command: use it for any listserv and just change the search word and the list name... Address to:listserv@suvm.syr.edu (which is the one for K12ADMIN) In the Body: // Database Search DD=Rules Search block in K12ADMIN Index Print /* (then send it and very soon you will get the 98 KB file) A safer option for smaller mailboxes: If you just want the index of files on block just delete the last two lines (Print and /*) Then you will get an index of the 98 files with a number on the extreme left that is the archive number for that file. Send this command to the listserv address to get a particular article:GET K12ADMIN Article# Later, Russell Smith rssmith@tenet.edu Home Phone 915-235-1228 Technology Consultant Home Fax 915-235-0633 Region XIV Education Service Center Work Phone 915-675-8600 Abilene, Texas 79601 Work Fax 915-675-8659
