After being a language arts teacher for many years, I am about to take over in the media center of our junior high. The space is very large, circulation is on-line, collection is large and up to date, lots of great things, but the place is drab. Not very inviting looking. Presently the space is divided into small areas by waist high book shelves, for no particular reason. My principal would like to eliminate that. I have no idea if it's a good idea or not. I've bought some fabric to make some banners, but need some ideas for displays, bulletin boards, furniture arrangement, anything to make the place look welcoming. There are plenty of tables and chairs, even about 15 rocking chairs but it just looks sterile. Thanks for anyone's help. I hope to be able to post a hit before going on vacation in a week.
