Internet lessons

I am writing lesson plans which include the use of internet for
information retrieval.  Is anyone aware of listservs or information
sources which would be valuable to students as they research birth
defects?  I'm also interested in history sources which can provide
information on the Harlem Renaissance and those people prominent during
that period.  Thanks for any help you can provide.  Please post
suggestions directly to me.
