Consider a book fair...either new books using a book fair vendor or a
used book fair.  For the used book fair, you need to get lots of people
to donate lots ofbooks.  You then sell most paperbacks for 50 cents;
hardcovers for $1.00 unless they're something special then go for $3-5.
It takes a while to build up a used book inventory.  I tried it for the
first time a few weeks ago and made over $270 for 2 1/2 hours of sales at
open house.  Many parents thought the idea was great and were already
asking about donating next year!
