At our middle school we allow them to check out two items at a time. They
can come in at any time and your prediction of ten a week is just about
accurate in the case of some students. No one is hampered by this
limitation and materials that might otherise sit in lockers while they
wait to get to it instead are available to others. I didn't create this
system, but I like it just fine.
