Help for K media specialist?

In the fall I will have a new position as media specialist in an Early Educatio
n Center housing pre-school and Kindergarten.  The center is 2 years old but ha
s not had a certified media specialist.  The book collection is automated and w
ill be networked but since there is no media center, the books are housed in th
e individual pods for use with their whole language program.  I would like to h
ear your collective views and suggestions on the role of the media specialist i
n this situation.  For many years I have been a ms in the more typical K-6 scho
ols with scheduled weekly classes in the media center.  Please respond to me at
