school library media job opening --> terrific

The Port Washington, NY Schools are looking for an elementary library
media specialist.  This district is on Long Island, NY - North Shore,
very nice area, sometimes called the "gold coast."

MORE IMPORTANTLY - THEY WANT A SCHOOL LIBRARY MEDIA LEADER ----

someone to move the library media program from "covering teacher breaks"
to an integral part of classroom learning and teaching.  In speaking with
Bob Bracken, the district personnel Director, I am convinced that they
are ready, willing, and able to make this an ideal situation for a
library media professional.

In terms of technology, the library is slated for automation next year.
My reading is that they are open to suggestions about what it takes to
make a state-of-the-art, 21st century library media program.

We - the library media profession - need to help find top level library
media professionals to fill positions like this.
