Keep in mind that a multi-standard VCR will require a multi-standard
monitor. I assume you are referring to a NTSC/PAL/SECAM machine. There
may be multiple VHS format standards. Caveat emptor. The multi-standard
machines are usually in professional broadcast formats such as beta (not
to be confused with the old home-style beta), 3/4 U-matic, beta SP or
D-II and others. These machines will not play your garden-variety VHS tapes.
