I'm a staff of one in a small private school, grades Pre-K to 8. Our Home & School Association has recently accepted my proposal to automate with Mandarin, and I'll be working on the project throughout the summer. Has anyone else out there gone through automation pretty much on your own, i.e., without the support of a district or school system? Is there any advice you (or anybody) could share about automation do's and don'ts-- things you would do differently if you had to do it all over again, etc. For instance, I'd like to hear what you have to say about "getting the shelf list ready" and other preparations or decisions about retrospective conversion. You don't have to be from an independent school to reply--any and all advice will be appreciated, and I will post a hit if there is enough interest. This is my first lm_net posting, so "When you think of this . . . please be kind." Doris A. Shaughnessy, L.M.S. Home: 404-992-7569 Sts.
