I hope to be interviewing this summer for a School Library Media Specialist position in my geographic area. I have just received my MLS and certification. I have seven years "professional" experience at a major research library (here at UB). However, other than my practicum and special course projects, I have never worked in a public school. I am hoping that some of you veterans (and greens, too) could give me some interviewing tips, or what to expect in a school interview. What might be stressed? Information skills? Educational trends? Technology? An even mix of the those and any others? What might an interviewer look for in a potential school librarian? Are their any expected social norms when interviewing in a school that I might not be aware of? Dress code? What to bring? Unless others on this list also want to see the replies, please respond directly to me. Thank you all very much. Michael Kankiewicz Science and Engineering Library University at Buffalo
