---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Mon, 27 Jun 1994 15:42:05 -0400 From: Robert Stonehill <rstonehi@INET.ED.GOV> To: Multiple recipients of list ERICDIR <ERICDIR@SUVM.SYR.EDU> Subject: Assignment Paris The U.S. Dept. of Education MAY be willing to provide partial support to a librarian/information scientist who wants to spend a year (or so) working in Paris with the International Association of Universities (IAU). ERIC, IAU and UNESCO have a joint project underway to produce a periodic INTERNATIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHY OF HIGHER EDUCATION. While the first edition of the Bibliography, containing 10,000 records, has been recently released, future challenges include expanding international coverage, negotiating publications and online rights and services, and quality control of the database. This opportunity would be ideal for a university-based librarian or information specialist who is looking for a sabbatical opportunity, where the host institution would pick up some of the costs, and the U.S. Dept. of Education may be willing to cover the additional costs. Please announce this possible opportunity to your constituents, and let me know of any qualified people that may be interested. Please consider this announcement to be an expression of interest, and not a definite commitment! ************************************************ Robert M.
